The Americans have a large number of people sworn to defend the democratic rights of American citizens. Taking that is straight up Causus Belli.
Obviously places like Hungary and Turkey have votes that don't entirely represent the populations but the people aren't motivated to stand for their rights in the same manner that we should. The question is what excuse the Americans will be presented with to disguise the fact their rights are being taken.
