This is why the Democrats never do much. They know we'll have to vote for them because the Republicans are always going to be slightly worse.
And every four years, the worse of the two evils gets more evil, so the lesser of the two can also get worse and we still have to vote for them.

What's an effective strategy?
Our only choice, every election time, is to vote for the lesser of two evils. We don't get to vote for someone who is actually good, who will work to do what the people want.
So the Republicans get more radical every year. And the Democrats get worse too, but they are sure we'll vote for them because they are slightly less bad than the Republicans.
So it's an effective strategy to get us to vote for someone evil -- just slightly less evil.
There is no effective strategy for people like you and me to bring about significant change. The people who run things work for their own benefit. The choices they give us in elections are all bad.
