While generally speaking you're correct about this, there's nothing covert about doubling insurance premiums or denying paychecks to solders who are still forced to duty or protecting molesters. And as costly as these overt moves are, those covert moves you fret over had better pay off goddamned good, because I believe that if they continue these policies they will most likely lose the House next year.
"You voted to deny servicemembers pay while they were forced to duty, while you collected your paycheck during the shutdown."
"Your vote for Trump's bill is costing me an extra $250 a month in premiums, while you get free health care from the government."
"You're 'tough on crime' but won't permit the investigation of a list of molesters."
Those are some of the attacks they will receive in the upcoming year unless and until they come to their senses.
