You have no idea how much it says that there is an atheist willing to discuss his beliefs. You show that atheists can be sensible, civilized people.

Sodomy is condemned biblicaly either way; although "sodomy" in the bible means "any ultra-taboo sexually pervasive act."
And although it is true that straight couples can commit sodomy; homosexuals have too by simple being homosexual.

On marriage : I fully agree that once you are you should stay the
course. But it would be far better if it was actually abolished since we are not hardwired for monogamy
and that is the pre condition for it unfortunately.

It would seem as if we are hardwired to have sex with everyone around us. However; that does not show love, compassion, or self control in any capacity.

Furthermore you are not going to love someone one iota more
because you have a piece of paper and some metal on your finger. What determines compatibility is trust love and
understanding and not any thing else.

I agree with you somewhat on this. You can love someone before you marry them; however, god does not recognize your relationship before you swear vows before him. Marriage is more about god than us.
