It would seem as if we are hardwired to have sex with everyone around us. However; that does not show love, compassion, or self control in any capacity.

I agree with you somewhat on this. You can love someone before you marry them; however, god does not recognize your relationship before you swear vows before him. Marriage is more about god than us.
