Over the years - there have been LOTS of claims of cures - from supposedly incurable maladies and treatments
The problem with such claims are obvious
The claim that the disease was incurable is NOT true. (THAT HAS to be the case - since a cure happened - even if unexplained)
Over the centuries - there have been thousands of once incurable diseases that can be treated and cured today.
ANd today - we can cure things that would have been considered impossible only 20 years ago.
IT is just like the case of those who claim out of body experiences of having seen gods - the problem is that we have such claims from ALL sorts of people of every religious and non religious inclination. IN every case - what we hear is exactly what the person EXPECTED to be - based on their prior beliefs. So - Christians see the christ - and moslems see Allah - and non believers do not see gods at all. THIS is clear proof that it is the brain that is doing its magic on people. IF it were a god - all would see the SAME one - or the same things.
THE idea that a god somehow cured your mental problem is simply YOUR interpretation - based on what YOU desperately want to believe - not based on any real knowledge or proof of connection to a divine spirit.
ANd - a sample of ONE fails in another area - for every ONE of YOU - there are literally thousands of others - who also prayed for a cure - and did not get one. Based on the FAILURE rate of prayer - a logical person would assume no gods exist.
People have prayed over the centuries for all sorts of things - many devout and good people have prayed not to die - for the end to hunger and starvation - the end to war - disease - and many other certainly deserving things. IF prayer worked - there would be no disease - no starvation - no war - and many other things. THAT all that still exists is the proof that prayer is worthless.
