Quote:South Park’s creators have mocked President Donald Trump’s recent attempts to rename various geographical locations by announcing that their show will be renamed South America.
Over the weekend, Trump suggested renaming the state of New Mexico as New America. He has previously signed an executive order to change the name of Lake Ontario to Lake America, and another changing the name of the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America.
Those changes have been reflected in online maps created by companies including Apple and Google.
In a statement to The Independent, South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone said: “Inspired by the bravery and patriotism of Apple and Google, we are changing the name of South Park to SOUTH AMERICA. We especially want to thank our parent company Paramount - a Skydance Capitulation.”
The Independent has approached the White House for comment.
