Right, that's what I thought. And it is a non-sequitur. It simply does not follow that "God is completely different from the one portrayed" (Msg. #126). It is some specific action of God's that would be completely different from the one portrayed, not his nature or very existence; i.e., acts of God (e.g., six-day creation) are separate from attributes of God (e.g., omnipotence).
- "You say God created the world in six days. Since there was no six-day creation, you are therefore...
- ... wrong about God's existence."
- ... wrong about God's nature."
- ... wrong about how long creation took."
