This is a democratic process. Anyone can stay behind and elect the delegates in, but they don't. What people at caucuses (and you guys apparently) don't understand is that the individual voting at the start of a caucus doesn't mean anything; you can think of it as simply a census to see where people's loyalties lie.
The real voting is done at the end, and most people decide to go home before that happens.
OK. I was confused because you said you didn't get consistency a lot when "you" (i.e. me) were talking politics, so I took it to mean that you thought my political opinions are regularly inconsistent...which would surprise me
