If something does happen to a person once their body has died then it is unknown. No-one knows, not even you.
you are right, no one knows. That's is why that supreme being sent messenger or prophets to let human know what our brain cannot comprehend the unseen and unknown.

If nothing happens, then why should you fear death?
To me , I fear death because I now something is going to happen and I am nor ready for it yet, I got to do good deeds to others first before I die.

Have you been dead before to claim it does not happen. ?
Judgment is a must because human are not perfect, they do wrong to others from time to time if there is no law or guidelines of right and wrong to control them.
