Should we have a rule that bans swearing?

I don't think swearing or personal attacks should be banned. If someone makes personal attacks in place of a point or a contribution to the discussion, that should be punished.

For example:

You're retarded. It's common knowledge that X == Y. Thus anyone can logically conclude that X == Z as well. Fuck, you're stupid.

vs.

Go fuck yourself.

I mean, it's harsh and abrasive, but we're all (mostly)mature and this is a discussion forum, not a nursery.
