Some scientists today believe that war did not really exist on the level it does today until religion was invented. But lets face it...the Crusades, the Inquisition, the Sunni/Shia contraversy, the holocaust (and the long standing abuse of Jews) would not exist. Frankly, I believe it started with Akhenaten and archeologists believe he was intolerant of the other gods of Egypt and that could even be the start of Judaism. Of course none of this can be proven, but the intolerance of multiple gods is when war over God started. Jews being slaughtered by a tolerant Rome because they could not bend to Roman theology and all the way up the chain to Islam today. Hell, if Mormans had their way, they'd control the White House and we'd all be converted by sword!
P.S. A very "God-fearing, church going" landlord of mine ripped me off mightly out of alot of money through lies and deceit. A belief in God does not make a person moral. A moral person makes a person moral.
Do you have any links or books on that subject? It's something I said to my boyfriend, and it'd be nice to have something in text to back that up, even if it's not so much "this is fact," it's still better than "well that's just how I feel so pffft" lol
