Catholic Charities is sixth in the US in expenses (Forbes), which doesn't count the churches giving independently, or the number of Protestant churches (which outnumber them). If you're counting old European cathedrals, I believe the host countries would rather you didn't ruin their tourism by demolishing them. Local businesses are profiting off them more than the church, that's for sure. There may be some power- and money-hungry people out there, but you can wager there are more outside of the church than in it. Nonbelievers are always searching for ulterior motives for Christian leaders, but I have yet to see correlative evidence. It's hard to blame you, I guess. Either Jesus is God or there has to be some other fantastical solution... like two-thirds of the world being under some grand delusion by the most evil organization in the history of mankind. Do you read Harry Potter?
