The real tragedy here is not denying
gays equal rights though that is bad enough
but the state of marriage itself : we have the highest
divorce rate in Europe here in the United Kingdom : marriage
should not be eternal as many cannot stay the course : would be far
more practical to have a fixed term contract and when that expires either
renew it or have couples go their separate ways : they would have to stay married
while the contract was still legal so divorce would be outlawed : the contract would only be
short term so any incompatibility in the relationship would not be referenced for natural time span
of the life of the couple : now this of course would not automatically guarantee longer unions but least it
would remove major emotional and financial burden of being trapped in a loveless relationship for ever and a day
