You are now taking the "not every muslim is a suicide bomber" route. Of course not every muslim agrees with the raving lunatics, but you would be surprised how deep the hatred within Islam goes. I have written about my muslim colleague before when during lunch the topic of gay marriage came up. She is one of the nicest persons in the world, but what I saw and heard about her viewpoint on gay rights was astonishing. And she is not the burka wearing type muslim either.

I actually admire what I call "small c" Christians; people who give witness to their faith by the way they live, and who don't preach at me or try to convert me. I've met a lot of people like that.
What people say or do in public is not the same as what they really feel and how they vote when they are alone in the voting booth. And these "small c" christians may not preach or prostletyze to you, but they do not condemn the actions of those performing their atrocities in the name of their faith either.
How many Christians and Muslims said that the Danish cartoonist shouldn't have made those cartoons, instead of condeming the vandalism and protests on Danish embassies?
Sure, I have a lot of contacts still with people from Jordan, Oman, Tunesia, and my own neck of the woods where the majority is Muslim. And I can talk, sit down, have (non-alcoholic) drinks, eat from their delicious foods, but I do know that our viewpoints on issues differ a great deal. And I will never back away from taking these issues head on with them, no matter how moderate they may seem.
