The same reason why the press didn't jump all over W Bush for all his lies that got us into Iraq. Remember how it wasn't until 2006 that a reporter in the White House Press Room finally had the temerity to ask Bush why we invaded Iraq since all the reasons we'd been given turned out to not even sort of be true?
We don't have a media in this country anymore.
