Oh, they're pushing for it. But who wants to make America angry? We/they might just decide that there are terrorists in Holland and have an excuse to shove our/their politics down their throat.
They are not going to press charges against the US government, just against the individual. I think that would seriously damage his credibility.
This Santorum guy seems rather dangerous, at least when I take my own agenda into consideration.
I could see it damaging his credibility among moderates. I think Holland should press charges of some kind. But I also don't think his supporters would care, even if they learned that charges had been pressed. They might just see it as more "evidence" of a "liberal commie conspiracy."
What falls away is always, and is near.
