The problem relies on dropping any and all bullshit mechanisms that faith undermines.
Once you accept talking snakes and resurrection based on a book which has no claim to coherent historical fact, you've opened the floodgates to any and all related bullshit.
When you gave up being skeptical about anything with jesus tagged on, you may as well give all your money to a dubious shyster who claims to talk directly and privately to the creator of the universe.
But what harm does faith cause.....pssssssh.
Poor kid is going to get brought up with this fantasy delusion all his life to boot. Would be interested to hear his account ib 5 years and see how much extra detail got added.
Makes me nauseous.

Self-authenticating private evidence is useless, because it is indistinguishable from the illusion of it. ― Kel, Kelosophy Blog
If you’re going to watch tele, you should watch Scooby Doo. That show was so cool because every time there’s a church with a ghoul, or a ghost in a school. They looked beneath the mask and what was inside?
The f**king janitor or the dude who runs the waterslide. Throughout history every mystery. Ever solved has turned out to be. Not Magic. ― Tim Minchin, Storm
