If your countrymen could have made a habit of evaluating their own strengths, weakness and role in the world more detachedly and objectively than you can, your country probably would never have ended up a shrunk rump of hillocks being excreted out of the balkan end of Europe.

All empires are destined to fall. There was not much to evaluate. At the end of the day, nations who were under our rule wanted their independence and won. I am not mad at them, in fact, I thank them. This allowed us to create an ethnically stable nation with only a few Unruhestifter.
