Oh, that's not true. Turkey has a shit ton of history and has impacted the world around them over the years. Perhaps it is true compared to old school powerhouses like England.
It's not just about the history of Turkey, Shell. I don't look at this in terms of countries, I look at them in terms of nations. And the Turkish nation is a very, very old nation-fractured, but still a nation on it's own. Our names were mentioned in Chinese sources that date back to roughly 200 BC, under the name of Xiong-nu, the Huns, as they were known in Europe.
If we look at Turkey's history in purely geographical terms, we must take into consideration the lot of the non-Turkish people that lived there-the Hattians, even more ancient than the indo-european speaking Hittites, were probably some of the first.
