Huh? I run a business in a town with large Spanish and Russian (don't know if they're illegal or not) speaking communities and never once have I felt the need to learn their languages to communicate with them. If they can't speak English, er Americanized English
then they get one of their kids to translate usually. There is no official language for the US. If their were I would prefer English because I speak and understand it, but a Mexican American might think otherwise.
