In this video, Christians walk out on Dan Savage (the founder of the It Gets Better project) as he criticises the Bible. Regardless of what you believe (whether you believe in God or not), I cannot see why these Christians would not hear him out. He's voicing an opinion on the way that he, and others of a homosexual preference, are treated by the church and the way in which other aspects of the Bible have all but been abandoned, yet this one has not.
To the theists, particularly Christians,... Would you walk out on him? Would you rather not hear him out understand his point of view?
Are the views of homosexuality different in different areas of the world (i.e. Christians in Europe have a different view on this than Christians in the US?).
I think that nowadays, hatred for homosexuals would be more of a culturally ingrained thing and the bible is just a convenient excuse. India, for example, is a predominantly Hindu society and Hindu scriptures say very little about homosexuality - one way or another. Still, the law and the cultural hangover from the British rule has still left an aversion for it, even though the British themselves have moved past it.
