I follow some folks on twitter who happen to be religious, and occasionally one of them will tweet something like, "Whenever times are roughest, I know that God (or Jesus, or My Faith) is the only reason I can make it through."
And I just think that has to be among the saddest personal things I have ever heard a person admit to. So if it wasn't for your religion, when life got tough you would...what, kill yourself? Or just curl up and die? What a sad, weak little person you are. I mean, look...life is hard, for almost all of us. But give yourself a little credit. People are tough, and most make it through just about everything that the universe throws at them, because what choice do we have?
I don't know. I just wanted to vent about this, I guess. I'm not perfect, and I can get pretty down on myself sometimes, but I have never - not once - needed an imaginary friend to get me through the day without jumping out of a window. Am i looking at this the wrong way?
