My Complaint With Atheism/Atheists

I have been on a number of atheist boards and in discussion with numerous atheists. I am in one now on same sex marriage with a scholar at an american university and he does what all atheists do, that I have come in contact with,--He puts words into my mouth that I did not say and credits me with acts I did not do.

I've known quite a few Christians who do that.

Atheists claim that religious people do not have a monopoly on morality but if one looks at the atheistic way of life, their is no source for their own supposed moral code.

Simply put, there are four major schools of thought regarding morality:
1) Deontological- Morality comes from rules that come from an external source. (This seems to be where you tend to fit)
2) Consequentialism- Moral actions should be judged by what comes of them.
3) Virtue Ethics-An essentially holistic idea of morality.
4) Pragmatic Ethics- Morality evolves in the same way something like science does (and yes, it does change. If you didn't need me to tell you this, then congratulations.)

Here's something you should know: Despite the fact that there are these four schools of thought, what tends to be moral is, for the most part, the same between all four schools of thought, although some specific dilemmas may reveal differences.

There's a reason that every major culture has their own equivalent of the Golden Rule, and Fred Clark, aka Slacktivist, whose commentaries on Left Behind and Tribulation Force have become an unparalleled commentary on the intersection of Religion, Politics, and Literature, has put it better than I ever can as to why this is true:

“Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Not because this will get you into Heaven or keep you out of Hell; not due to your gratitude for the undeserved grace of God; not because you love Jesus, who asks this of you or because you’re trying to follow his model of the best of humanity; not because of the law and the prophets or because of some Kantian or Rawlsian imperative or some utilitarian calculus. Simply follow the Golden Rule because it will protect you from becoming a gaping asshole.”
