In Malory's Morte d'Arthur, Morgan tries to kill Arthur by proxy in one part of the (very very long) book ... but by the end, she's one of the three-four queens who transport him to Avalon, and she's very upset by the wounds she receives. I'd quote you, but my copy of the Morte is still in my parents' basement.
