Oh wow, glad I stayed up alittle longer. Thought I'd take a quick look and was pleasently suprised, thank you. Really.
Isn't mass-derailing against the rules? If you really wanted to be thorough you could argue that counts as spam too.
The fact hes done it subtly shouldn't be seen as something in his favor, it should be met with no less contempt than the average troll if not more.
Should a new rule be made about baiting then? No. Baiting is often used in arguements and debates, it can't be banned because its simply another tool to be used. However, in the many posts Mehmet baited people his intent was clear; to derail the thread onto the completely unrelated subject of his country. To spark animousity toward himself by implying our nations are somehow inferior, thereby making himself the center of attention and giving himself complete control over the subject matter. You could argue that people could of just ignored it but the reality is most didn't and as a result the subject was changed to one of Mehmets choosing almost everytime.
In conclusion, to prevent this from happening I would suggest what is needed is not a new rule but an addition to an existing rule:
"Anyone found to be intentionally baiting others onto a specific subject in numerous threads will be seen as derailing and will recieve a warning, failiure to heed that warning will result in condemnation, failiure to heed that condemnation will result in banning."
Or something similar, just a suggestion. It would obviously have to involve some judicial discretion but yeah just glad somethings being done. Cheers.
Anyway, 3am here. Insomnias a bitch so yeah, night everyone.
