It certainly would, since he is equally as fictional as his wizardy friend. However, if we discovered copies of copies etc of manuscripts from many centuries ago purporting to be written by the character, though not actually an eyewitness to the wizard or any of the events he describes, and written several decades after those events... see where this is going?
