A "firm" atheist? How can one be firm or convicted in their non-belief?
Now, with respect to all the god myths out there, there are some we're either open or close minded to, considering all the various claims we've ever encountered and listened to to-date.
For example I utterly reject any argument for the existence of the Biblical god, the claimant doesn't even have a burden of proof because the whole concept is refuted, literally thrown out of the debate, as a pile of incoherent nonsense, whereas with other deity claims I normally listen to the arguments first until the person fails to deliver any verifiable evidence and therefore meet their obligation to demonstrate the being/entity's ontological 'presence', if you will.
All depends on what you define "god" as. Most people put forward a ridiculously absurd, usually logically impossible case, and the rest label the mundane and everyday as "god", which is fine until one begs the question "Why call it 'god' then?"
