They believe God is mythical, and there's plenty of evidence for that.
The main thing I have against the New Theism is that it calls itself theism but it isn't theism. They regard God as a myth, a personification of reality but not really a person. Like the Brights, the 'New Theists' could not have done much worse in picking a name for themselves. Names are important. I'm an atheist, but I don't support the National Atheist Party because its name makes it inseperable from identity politics. Arguably, I'm a Bright and a New Theist by the definitions that have been given to those terms, but no way am I going to identify that way because the first sounds smug and the second sounds like a lie.
