Has the Atheism vs. Theism debate played it's course?
May 25, 2016 at 11:56 am
I think it has with the Atheism vs. Christianity anyway, at least on places like YouTube where the great debate community is all but gone or has moved on. I feel like at least on YouTube the Atheism community has shifted more towards debating the SJW/Feminist movement or even Islam for some Atheist YouTubers than formal debates anymore. What with the SJW's trying to mix their ideologies with Atheism/Secularism or in Islam's case trying to force western societies like those within Europe to conform to Islamic law. Do you think this shift in debate is happening? And if so, do you think it's a more use of time to argue the social, political and global issues than arguing about mythology?
If the hypothetical idea of an afterlife means more to you than the objectively true reality we all share, then you deserve no respect.

I think framing any sort of "Atheist community vs. SJW/Feminist" debate is completely inaccurate.

Don't worry, my friend. If this be the end, then so shall it be.

A debate requires both sides to be able to somehow make and back their cases, atheism vs theism is a one-sided manhandling/comedy-show not a debate. However Islam is presently much more dangerous than christianity because it is quickly approaching the same stage as christianity from a hundred years back, and thus needs more attention.

Its not a debate. Not it just boils down to variations on "yes it is" "no it isn't".

Yeah, it's not so much a debate as one side slinging shit everywhere, so fast that the other side can't mop it all up in time.
Theists can't even tell me why I should give a shit, so it's all kind of moot after that.

I refuse to take anyone who uses the term 'SJW' seriously.

I'm leaning that way towards the term "regressive left" as well. The terms are used so broadly by so many different people in so many different circumstances that they have about as much meaning as the word "spiritual" does to me.

For me, it's simply an indication that the person using the term simply doesn't want to have an actual discussion. It's pejorative, and thus limiting. We can do better with our terminology.
