I don't assert that there is no god because there may be a god. I don't know for sure. My stance is - I don't believe any god exists. I acknowledge that it's possible however maintain that it's unlikely and so far completely unsupported.
I'm quite comfortable as an agnostic atheist. No claims made, just a simple rejection of baseless claims. I live my life on the assumption that god does not exist, that there is no afterlife and that every religion in the world is wrong. Just leave it as that and focus on living my life.

Being an atheist says nothing about your overall intelligence, it just means you don't believe in god. Atheists can be as bright as any scientist and as stupid as any creationist.
