You are of course correct, however I would like to make one point.
When you said that agnostic, as a label, is useless, I agree. Alone, at least, it means very, very little.
However, when conjoined with the belief labels theism and atheism, it gains a new meaning as an enhancing descriptive.
While it may be true that one doesn't have knowledge either way, that I not only grant but fully support, the more dogmatic or certain might adopt the gnostic label, particularly theists.
My conclusion is that there is no reason to believe any of the dogmas of traditional theology and, further, that there is no reason to wish that they were true.
