I don't dispute this. Lots of people get away with doing bad things. Wanting that not to be so is a reason to want to believe in an afterlife where justice is finally served. However, it is not a reason to believe that is actually the case. Wanting something to be so does not make it so. I am particularly suspicious of believing things that I want to be true.
