You should, nothing opens your eyes to the true extent of the barbarity and stupidity of the christian and jewish religion as much as the the new and old testaments (respectively, but the latter applies to both, of course). I found that reading it is simply fore-arming oneself against idiotic christians, very little is as effective in an argument as 'have you actually read the bible, [christian idiot]?', besides, it simply compounds atheism.
On topic, I believe that it's actually a decent work of fiction, nothing more. I prefer the OT for reading value (but less for truth value), and the NT for actual messages, JC was a cool guy but he got too literal with the god thing, overall 6/10. Followers: 2/10.
