I think the question in the vote is poorly constructed.
1) There is no "god" to turn my back to in the first place.
2) Being an Atheist doesn't require learning "teachings". There are no "teachings" because Atheism simply refers to the disbelief in any intergalactic supernatural beings of any kind.
