I said the left is quick to berate all those so-called horrible 'eccentricies' of the Tea Party like flag waving, patriotism, and love of country but are silent about the crimes committed by far left anarchists like the OWS terrorists. I'm not at all implying that everyone on the left supported the ones who committed those crimes. I'm simply pointing out that the left is blinded by their own hatred, hypocrisy, and double standards.
Wow!
Just... wow!
He actually broke out the "t" word, boys and girls.
Hey Clive, you watching this? This is what I mean by "wacky right", whether he's wearing tea bags or no. Clear now?
And for those of you living outside America, this is a prime example of how our political discourse has completely broken down because a huge section of the right wing has gone completely, foaming-at-the-mouth, living-on-an-alternate-world, batshit insane.
How can we have a rational conversation with someone like this? And he's not at all outside the norm for the wacky right. He IS their new normal.
I mean, let's run down the list here.
Despite my patient review of his story links in my previous post, he can't comprehend how the OWS movement is not responsible for criminals who slip into their ranks and commit crimes against members of the OWS movement, especially when their leadership has responded in the responsible way and now taken action to keep protesters more safe.
He continues to insist that crimes committed by individuals are somehow equivalent to right wing hate crimes that are directed not randomly, not against other conservative protesters but against individuals they're directly inspired to hate. When Dr. Tiller was murdered by an anti-abortion terrorist (and this is the definition of a terrorist, one who targets civilians to generate fear and thereby effect political change or submission), the terrorist wasn't just acting randomly. He was inspired to the crime by right wing hate and distortion.
Here's a more recent example.
There is a clear link between right wing hate speech and right wing hate crime.
Now A Theist wants to somehow play the "both sides do it" card by pointing to tragic cases where OWS protesters have been assaulted by criminals who may not even be fellow protesters and certainly weren't inspired to commit their crimes by occupy rhetoric (unless A Theist would care to enlighten us on how "reinstate regulations on the banks" could inspire someone to commit rape).
And he keeps harping on this false sense of persecution that the left condemns him for "waving the flag". I'm sorry, what notable liberal has EVER said, "You know what the problem is with the right wing? They love their country too much and wave the flag around too much." Show me where any notable liberal has ever said that. Show me any Democrat leader who's ever said that. Show me or admit that this is another fucking straw man.
I'm sorry, A Theist, but you've been pumped full of fear and hate by right wing propaganda and thoroughly brainwashed by it. You're so indoctrinated that you can't see past any of the latest right wing manufactured outrage to realize how badly you and the rest of us are getting screwed by the real elitists that run this country. And when you are forced to acknowledge the abuse and bullying that come from your ranks, your last resort of your mind is to play the "oh yeah, well so does the other side" and the best you can do to justify this is to point to some tragic cases where unrelated crimes have been committed upon OWS protesters.
A huge percentage of the right wing in America has gone batshit insane. Until the hatemongers and fearmongers are brought in line by their own (fat chance of that now), I don't see how we can have a rational discussion on anything.
