I will defend Mr Akin here in that he is only being honest in saying what he believes. I would reckon there are plenty of Fundamentalist Christians (which Mr Akin is one) who believe much the same stuff as he does. Hell if I was one I would only condemn him for that raped woman wanting to get pregnant thing, which is too far.
People need to know you are dealing with the sort of people who believe say that evolution is an anti-christian philosophy inspired by Satan, or that scientists who argue for anthropogenic climate change are philosophizing.
By the way I have read stuff by what would be considered top commentators and intellectuals in the Fundamentalist Protestant community (such as Bill Muehlenberg and Albert Mohler), what they write about makes for quite interesting, if not disturbing reading.
