Isn't Bart Ehrman no longer a Christian? I get the feeling you're trying to have your cake and eat it too. If so, then discussion isn't really worth it anymore...
EDIT: What I mean about Bart is that you're so comfortable with commiting the fallacy of appealing to an authority, but then that same authority doesn't share your religious views. Doesn't that mean that you should follow suit? Strangely, no, you still manage to cling on to his authoritative word, but then believe what you want to believe anyways. What's it going to be? Does his word count or not!
