You think you guys can help me out with a paper (of all religions/non-religion)?

I started my first day of classes today and I only had one today: Psychology of Religion. Now, the content of the class (for right now) is irrelevant, but I need help with something. I'm supposed to write a paper on my subjective experiences with religion growing up. I'm also supposed to interview my parents to get their points of view to be considered when writing the essay. The problem is that I can't have a civil discourse with my parents about religion. They don't like that I'm an atheist and I'm convinced my father thinks it's a 'phase'.
Here's where I need the help. I was wondering if you guys would like to share some of your experiences with religion and how it shaped you growing up. This paper isn't due until mid-October and I haven't read the sections of the book that will help me to write this essay (We get into that section after the first test), but I wanted to ask for your input and permissions first thing. If anyone is okay with this, I might PM them with some occasional frequency about the subject once I get closer to the due date (probably the beginning of Oct.).
Non-religious upbringing stories are just as important to me and my paper, so I'd love it if everyone shared.
If you don't feel comfortable posting it, my PM box is always open. If you don't feel comfortable sharing anything, that's fine, too. No pressure.
Thanks, guys.
