Because the problem is religion. Regardless of it's source or intentions, ultimately it will attempt to rule lives and governments and societies and schools with their "holier than thou", unchanging, outdated values and reprehensible morals.
I really could not care less if someone wants to worship a god or figurehead or whatever. The problem is that it always becomes a religion. I care when they decide that their values should have seniority over sociological common sense and values.
