If that makes me callous, I don't care. I give my charity to actual charities that do actual good with the money.
I don't think homeless people are that way because of laziness or stupidity. Mostly they are because of drug and alcohol abuse or mental problems. I find it extremely sad, although I agree with you that giving them money is not an effective solution. I also want to note to people that most homeless people aren't beggars, they exist off of food banks and soup kitchens and never beg.
