Natural selection does not fucking care who sets on their ass or who works hard. Nateral selection favors anything that gets the individual to the point of reproduction. It isn't about the physically strong or the physically weak. If being a risk taker gets you to the point of making babies, that works. If being safe gets you to the point of reproduction THAT ALSO WORKS. It is about the ability to adapt.
A "risk taker" can be fit and jump cliff rocks or challenge dangerous animals, but a bacteria or genetic defect CAN kill that same "risk taker", not to mention a fall off those same rocks. If that person has not made a kid before their death it doesn't fucking matter how fit or how many "risks" they take.
Another example. Say a fit 250lb weight lifter and a 140lb fat guy meet at a bar. The fat guy has 3 kids. The weight lifter has none. The fat guy spills a beer on the other guy by accident. The weight lifter starts to grab the guy by the neck. The fat guy pulls out a gun and shoots and kills the weight lifter, BEFORE he has ever had a kid.
Bacteria desease, accidents, crime, genetic defects, war, all those things can kill the fittist people and any "risk taker".
Evolution only works when you reproduce. Next time you go to a crowded mall look at the range of people and you will find fat people with kids and fit people with kids and others with no kids. It doesn't give one shit if you take risks or are a safty nut because both can work and both dont always work.
