The above bold is by me, what control, by whom and for what purpose. This control stuff comes up all the time, I think it's time someone explained what is meant by it, or if you all are just repeating something you've heard. I've been a part of the Church for a long time and I do not know of any control going on.
It isn't about the church. It is your willful ignorance that you self inflict that allows you to be controled by a fantastic and quite STUPID idea that is centered around a character who IS an absolute power.
No one is arguing that you have a gun to your head. It is your unwillingness to understand your own flawed use of logic that leads you to the same delusions that lead people to falsely believe the sun was a god.
WILLFUL IGNORANCE is what is controling you. Once someone sells you the meme of a fictional utopia and you want to believe it so badly enough, you will. THAT is what you are under the control of, YOUR OWN CREDULITY.
Most of the atheists here, including me, believed as fervently as you claim to now. WE were victims of our own flawed use of logic. Any human who claims an invisible being is merely a victim of wanting a super hero badly enough. It is the falure to understand that our logic and perseptions are notoriously flawed.
This is not a "church" mistake, it is a human mistake in all of evolution. Social norms and traditions do not constitute reality other than people like doing those things. "Personal experiances" any clinical psychologist worth their weight can tell you are notoriously flawed.
God/s deity/ super natural belief IN ALL OF HUMAN EVOLUTION are a result of flawed logic and human immagination and missinterpretation of perception.
This isn't about you or one religion. We can spend forever ripping apart your god, but as fun as that is ALL GOD CLAIMS are the same in that they ammount to NOTHING BUT WISHFUL THINKING because humans prefere what feels good rather than what they can test and verify.
You were part of the church. SO WHAT. Billions of people go to Mosques and believe in Allah as fervently as you do in your claim. Many Muslims know more about the Koran than you do, so go join up right now.
