I just find it strange that you claim to know which parts are to be taken literally, which parts are metaphor, and from another post of yours, which parts are corrupted by humans.
How do you know which are which? What is the particular algorithm that you apply to the Bible to discern which is which?

There are more passages that can be interpreted as describing the earth as flat. This passage for example, Job 38:14 - "The earth takes shape like clay under a seal; its features stand out like those of a garment".

Looks pretty flat to me.
You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.
