Yes it was completely destroyed in 551 AD and not by any army, but just as God said, a tsunami sweep this city away, with most of it's people. That city was and still is at the sea's floor. Yes a new city is built, however that particular city is gone.
God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.
