Alright I see this is what you are referring to. To clarify, I'm saying there are different reasons why christians worship. Not necessarily out of fear but also not necessarily because its "beneficial and uplifting".
A lot of christians are thrown into a church at an early age like how muslims are drowned in islam from the day they are born and it becomes a part of their life. Some of them go through with their religion meaninglessly just to keep people around them happy. They don't care what the bible says or doesn't say and neither do they care what the pastors say. They go to church and pray/worship for the sake of weekly ritual, nothing more.
For the record, I am not implying that all christians or most christians are like this. I make no assumption but I do know there are christians as I have described above.
