How many times did we fail before we went to the moon? How many times did we fail before we broke the sound barrier? Again, the purpose was not to stop man from doing these things at all, (witnessed by all of the pictures left by other posters in this thread) it was to put us off a while. (persumably to ensure the plan of salvation would happen the way it did.)
