Subtle?
Well, it's subtle because, if you talk to their pundits and politicians or check their positions on their campaign websites, you'll keep hearing them telling us how they don't hate hispanics as long as they came here legally and learn English. They don't hate black people as long as they aren't poor. They don't hate Native Americans as long as they don't have casinos or smoke shops.
At least, that's the face they attempt to portray to the public. Behind the scenes, if you go to their rally and talk to the people there, you'll hear them complaining about the ni**er in the white house or the s**cs swimming over from Mexico and stealing our jobs or camel jockeys blowing shit up or those damn commies from Europe whatever other racial/religious/ethnic minority you can find for them to attempt to be incredibly offensive towards.
And, no, they aren't all like that, but I'd be more than willing to bet, you'd hear a lot more slurs at a Republican/Tea Party rally than you would at a Democrat rally. As a result, a lot of their politicians wind up being closet racists.
