Well, we're certainly the only ones capable of gazing upon them and know what they are, at least on this planet. I know I've seen Ozzy, my parents' dog, looking keenly at the night sky. Maybe he's seen a bat or something, or maybe he's just enjoying the breeze on his face as dogs are wont to do; but maybe...

Never mind, it's not my work anyway. In hindsight I should have attributed it, but I'm not sure who penned it. I know it dates back at least to an 1852 journal edited by Charles Dickens and that's as far as I get. By the way, anyone figured out what the poem means, unless you know already?
