Did he spend this money in Vagas or something? No. He's paying the bills that W Bush ran up. The primary contributors to our debt are the two wars, the Bush tax cuts, and the Bush bailouts. Even his spending programs, bailing out the auto industry and the stimulus, were not for fun but because W Bush wrecked the economy and the only alternative was to stand by and watch Detroit go bankrupt or the economy sink into a new Depression.
When Republicans agree to let the tax cuts expire and cut defense budget in half, we can talk about other ways to reduce the debt. Until then, they can STFU about all their pearl-clutching and "oh, won't anyone think of our children".

Yes, Obama has been a disappointment in many ways. You'll get no argument from me on that. I just want credit where credit is due. These were not Obama's wars, whether or not he had the political courage to end them.
