Islam seems to have a real problem in Salafism, even more of a problem than Christianity has with fundamentalism. Other than that, Muslims seem pretty much like any other religious people, including the part where they all think they have the correct interpretation of their scriptures and and any co-religionists who interpret them differently are doing it wrong.
I'm privileged to have many good religious friends in my life, including many Muslims, thanks to my involvement with refugees. I am quick to defend them against over-generalizations, but don't pretend to be the arbiter of what is and isn't Islamic.
You raised a good point their brother. Think ive got away with myself. I'm no scholar or sheik. Everything i say is just what i have learnt from scholars and sheik's. Everything i say is my current viewpoint based on the available evidences from the Qur'an.
mmmh from the Quran, but I didn't think a Muslim can be a Muslim from the Qur'an alone, what about the Hadiths and Sunna. And are you fluent in Arabian because I thought the Qur'an can only be read and understood properly in that form. And to the scholars and sheik's limit themselves to what the Quran says?
